Orlando Bloom gave ex-wife Miranda Kerr a VERY similar engagement ring to new fiancee Katy Perry
ORLANDO Bloom didn't look too far for inspiration when he chose Katy Perry's engagement ring - as he gave ex-wife Miranda Kerr an almost IDENTICAL band.
The actor, 42, gave the popstar, 34, a flower ring when he popped the question on Valentine's Day - and the floral accessory looks exactly like the ring he used when he asked Miranda Kerr to marry him nine years ago.
Orlando asked the model to tie the knot back in 2010 - though Miranda's ring, made up of white diamonds, was definitely more understated than Katy's colourful ring.
The Kent-born actor started dating Australian model Miranda Kerr in 2007 and the pair announced their engagement in June 2010, then married a month later.
Katy shared a picture of her pink diamond engagement ring on Instagram, accompanied the post with the caption: “In bloom.”
And it's been reported that, according to a diamond expert, Katy's ring 'cost nearly £4 million'.
“The centre stone appears to be an oval-shaped ruby accented by natural white diamonds surrounding it to create a floral halo."
Grant said the rings design is a nod to the early 20th century’s Edwardian period.
He added: “It is also worth noting that the design is similar to Kate Middleton’s engagement ring passed on from the late Princess Diana.
"While the centre stone and the colour of the gold is different, the style is quite similar.”
Miranda gave birth to their son, Flynn Christopher Bloom, in January 2011.
But in October 2013, the pair announced they had separated and they were divorced by the end of 2013.
Katy divorced British comedian Russell Brand in July 2012 after two years together.
