Countdown’s Rachel Riley hit by cruel trolls who say she looks ‘too thin’ since becoming a vegan and ‘needs to eat more’
The 33-year-old has been vegan for over a year and has been vocal about how it has eased her long term health issues
COUNTDOWN'S Rachel Riley has been attacked by cruel trolls who say she looks "too thin" since becoming a vegan and "needs to eat more".
The 33-year-old took to Instagram over the weekend to show off her pretty dress while recording 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
The two-tone number featured a paisley print, a high neck and no sleeves.
Posing with her hands on her hips, Rachel smiled as she showed off a pair of big novelty pink slippers and captioned it: "My favourite EVER episode we’ve filmed and the last in the current series of 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown goes out tonight!
"Featuring Sean singing, Joe Wilkinson in a ball gag, these fetching pink clogs and full male nudity - something for everyone 9pm @channel4. Don’t miss this one!!! #catscountdown #countdown #8outof10catsdoescountdown #8outof10cats #comedy."
While Rachel had lots of positive comments, there were a number of vicious trolls who took aim at her, with one writing: "You look like you need to eat a little more."
Another added: "Looking very thin these days" while a third shared: "Lovely Rachel but getting thin."
A fourth wrote: "You looked better before you went vegan. All respect but you looked absolutely stunning before you did."
Rachel has been vegan for over a year, and has spoken about the health benefits she has felt since cutting out meat and dairy.
Having previously suffered from sickness and stomach problems after eating, she said: "For a large part of my life, I’ve had intolerances and been sick with food.
"I was vegetarian for maybe six months a few years ago and I felt so ill.
“It was because whenever I was working and out, the veggie options were always things like pasta, cheese, rice, and pies – really heavy stuff that was making me feel rubbish.
“A few years ago, I stopped eating eggs and dairy and I’ve gradually gone vegan.
"As soon as I stopped eating a lot of foods, many of my symptoms went away almost overnight.”
The Sun Online has contacted a representative for Rachel for comment.
