Inside Emmerdale Maya actress Louisa Clein’s glam real life – from holidays in St Lucia to lush date nights with husband Jeremy
EMMERDALE actress Louisa Clein is at the centre of one of the biggest outrages in the soap's long history as paedophile teacher Maya Stepney.
Viewers have been begging the evil educator to stop after she continued her pursuit of teenager Jacob Gallagher on tonight's episode.
However, when the cameras stop rolling, the actress who plays her lives a vastly different life from Maya's sick double life in the Dales.
The 39-year-old star, who has won acclaim for her portrayal of the twisted teacher, enjoys holidays to St Lucia, pub crawls in London's posh Hampstead with her husband and cocktail date nights.
Louisa married top barrister Jeremy Brier in 2011, the year after he stood as an MP for the Conservative party in Luton North, and the pair are fantastically loved-up.
The London-based couple, who have three children, were introduced by none other than Strictly star Robert 'Judge' Rinder.
Maya and Robert met while she was shadowing him to prepare for her breakthrough role on Judge John Deed.
She played Sir John's animal activist daughter Charlie in the BBC1 drama - and Rob, who she describes as a "dear friend", went on to be best man at their wedding.
Louisa explained: "Robert has always been a rock in my life. I’m trying my best to tempt him on to a soap. He’d be great on Emmerdale."
Spurs fan Louisa, who joined the ITV soap in March last year, often travels to games and even took Jeremy to a match as one of their first dates.
Last year, he took her to the super-luxe five-star Sugar Beach resort on the Caribbean island of St Lucia for Valentine's Day - which is also the day they got engaged.
The Dorset-born actress shared a picture of the hotel's jaw-dropping treetop spa, jokingly posting: "#Igothimacard."
Elsewhere on her Instagram feed, Louisa reveals a love of cosy drinking spots, with the star posting her "date night pub crawl" in January.
She and Jeremy took in a variety of historic boozers in north London's posh Hampstead.
Louisa also revealed that he doesn't like to be at home while her character Maya has momentous plots on screen.
In November, she shared a picture of her at the Everyman cinema in Leeds, writing: It's a big night for Maya tonight on #emmerdale.
"I always like to sit and watch it quietly after it's been live on tv so instead I've taken myself off to @everymancinema and I have to say, I'm having a lovely time!!!"
Well, judging by the number of huge storylines she's had on Emmerdale lately, Louisa will practically have moved into that cinema.
