Amy Childs reveals how she made her £5million fortune — reality shows, boutiques, salons, baby ranges and property
The reality star says she has a lot of thank Towie for but would never return unless they did a mums' special version
AMY Childs has revealed how she made her £5million fortune — reality shows, beauty salons and property.
The reality star, 28, only starred in two seasons of The Only Way Is Essex but has been a hit with the public.
And she managed to balance this with two babies and a number of subsequent shows including The Jump, Celebrity Big Brother and It’s All About Amy.
She said: “My mum and dad have always been business people.
“And I think people saw me in Towie they thought, ‘Awww’. I worked full time during Towie. When I was in Towie I worked seven days a week.
“I was working at a salon, from nine to half seven every night. I had to go home and start spray tanning.”
Amy, who has a daughter and a son latterly with current boyfriend Ritchie, says she’s got ITVBe show Towie to thank for her success.
She said: “It was literally two weeks after that there was like people coming to me wanting me to be the face of beers. And I just used it as an advantage and that’s what I’ve done now. I’ve got this from Towie.
“Whatever I’ve done, I’ve worked so hard. I had my range of fake tan, I had my sleep rollers, hair rollers, everything that I’ve done I’ve worked so hard at.
“Now I’ve got my range for the baby, I’ve got my range of prams, I’ve got an Instagram mummy page that I do, I’m launching my dresses as well, next week.
“I did a collection a couple of years ago but I decided to have my babies, have my kids, and now I’d like to go back into the dresses.
“We’re only going to do ten pieces. I feel like what I’d like to do in the next couple of months is do my own range of baby wear, children’s wear.”
But despite owing the show to her success she ruled out making a return after nine years, turning down numerous offers.
She would, however, do a special mums’ edition.
Asked if she’d return, Amy said: “No. Two kids.
“Do you know what they should do? They should get all the mums together who’ve had kids and put us all together. Because we’d all be so different. It’d be different now.
“They just film us when all the kids are crying, they’re screaming. That’s the real Towie. That’s what I think would be good.”
The star’s latest venture is her Obaby furniture range which has been inspired from her love of being a mum.
She admits it is tough at times but has friends and family who help her out.
And more children aren’t off the cards.
She added: “I don’t know. I wake up sometimes and I think, ‘I’d love one in another couple of years’ but sometimes I’m thinking two years, I might get my life back and I wouldn’t want another one.
“I’m very maternal. I’ve always been like that. I love kids, I love babies. I look at a new born now and start getting broody so there is potential that I could have another one. But not any time soon.”
