She is seen laughing as she talks about how her child James - known as Jimmy - would be kept in late King of Pop Michael's room, giggling: "I wanted to know what was going on in the room.

"My son doesn't know this but I would go to the door and try to hear what conversation was going on and then I'd sneak away."

One critic tweeted: "No way would I laugh and smile at memories of a man abusing my son."

Another wrote: "His mum has been laughing and smiling the whole interview. I don't see how any parent could talk so fondly of the man she is accusing of raping her child?"

A third asked: "What the hell is this mum's problem or is it just me that it's so bizarre she smiles laughs and jokes while her son talks about being sexual abused, violated and raped.

"This is extremely tough to watch."

One other posted: "Why would you laugh talking about your son's alleged abuse?"

A further tweeter posted: "Finding #LeavingNeverland very difficult to watch. The laughing mothers as they tell their stories is quite disturbing."
