Emmerdale favourite Lisa Dingle will be killed off soon after shock return to the soap
Despite making a surprise return to hit soap Emmerdale, factory worker Lisa Dingle will be killed off in a sad storyline
EMMERDALE favourite Lisa Dingle is being killed off — after making a surprise return last night.
The factory worker — played for 23 years by Jane Cox, 66 — had not been seen since last April.
The character moved to Scotland after a health scare.
But she was seen telling niece Charity — played by Emma Atkins, 43 — she has a terminal heart condition.
Lisa asked her to prepare her eulogy and pleaded with her to keep the diagnosis secret from her daughter Belle.
The heartbreaking scenes were in a special International Women’s Day episode of the ITV soap with a female cast.
Emmerdale bosses said Lisa will now be reunited with husband Zak — Steve Halliwell, 64 — and the rest of the Dingle family during her final days.
Actress Jane, who joined the soap in 1996, said: “Lisa is so close to my heart as she’s been such a huge part of my life.
“I know I’ll shed more than a few tears when it comes to filming her final scenes.
“But I’m really looking forward to giving the character a deserving farewell.
"I will miss her.”
