Emmerdale spoilers: Charity Dingle shares Lisa Dingle’s death secret with Vanessa Woodfield

The vet is left trying to comfort her fiancée when she tells her the truth about her aunt

VANESSA Woodfield will learn about Lisa Dingle’s death secret in Emmerdale next week as her fiancée Charity Dingle confides in her.

Emmerdale fans were left devastated when Lisa revealed she was terminally ill during last Friday’s episode which was a special all-female edition to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The secret is getting to Charity – Emma Atkins - and her behaviour begins to baffle Vanessa when she can’t face talking to Belle, Lisa’s daughter.

A worried Vanessa demands answers from Charity and the pub landlady can’t hide the secret any longer.

She tells Vanessa that Lisa’s dying and Vanessa – Michelle Hardwick - tries to process what she’s learned while comforting a despairing Charity.

Lisa made a shock return to the Dales last week having fled the village back in April after being accidentally spiked by Liv Flaherty and almost dying from a heart attack.

But instead of being a joyful return, she was soon seen telling niece Charity that she had a terminal heart condition.

Lisa asked her to prepare her eulogy and pleaded with her to keep the diagnosis secret from her daughter Belle.

Emmerdale bosses said Lisa will now be reunited with husband Zak — Steve Halliwell, 64 — and the rest of the Dingle family during her final days.

Actress Jane Cox, who joined the soap in 1996, said: “Lisa is so close to my heart as she’s been such a huge part of my life.

“I know I’ll shed more than a few tears when it comes to filming her final scenes.

“But I’m really looking forward to giving the character a deserving farewell.

"I will miss her.”
