Tulips and daises were placed at the door of The Skillet in Loughton, Essex, with condolence messages
HEARTBROKEN Mike Thalassitis fans have left flowers outside the restaurant he was set to open next week as they mourn the Love Island star.
Tulips and daises were placed at the door of The Skillet in Loughton, Essex, with condolence messages.
Mike had been planning to launch the new venue with his friend Scott - and even sent out invites for the grand opening.
But the 26-year-old was found hanged in a park on Saturday morning after being left grief-stricken over the death of his beloved grandmother and plagued with "huge debts".
A source told The Sun: “It is absolutely tragic to have died at such a young age.
"Mike had so much to live for. He was about to launch a restaurant in Essex with a pal.”
A Met Police spokesperson said in a statement they had been called to a park near Latymer Way about 9.30am yesterday to "reports of a man found hanged".
Despite paramedics rushing to the scene, the young man was pronounced dead.
A file will now be prepared for the coroner.
Mike shot to fame on the 2017 series of the ITV2 dating show Love Island.
His co-stars have been left devastated by the loss, with his manager saying he had been left a "broken man" by Mike's death.
The star's ex-girlfriend Megan McKenna is yet to speak out publicly about the tragedy.
Tonight, a special episode of Celebs Go Dating will air in memory of Mike a year after he starred on the show.
Megan is currently signed up to the agency and just weeks ago cried about her split with Mike on TV.
