Emmerdale’s Ned Porteous ISN’T returning to the soap full-time after tonight’s Joe Tate back from the dead bombshell
Emmerdale’s Ned Porteous is back on screen tonight as Joe Tate is revealed to be alive – but he’s not returning to the soap full-time say insiders.
Viewers will be shocked tonight when Kim Tate sees CCTV of Joe in Monte Carlo, revealing he’s not actually dead.
Joe was ‘killed off’ last October when he hit his head on a rock after being punched by Cain Dingle – then Graham Foster said he killed him.
But tonight’s show will reveal to viewers that Joe is alive and has been secretly living abroad with Graham’s help.
However, despite Joe being alive and well, Emmerdale insiders tell The Sun Online that actor Ned Porteous’s return isn’t permanent.
“Ned just filmed a few scenes, it’s not like he’ll be back in the soap full-time,” says the insider.
“Joe won’t be returning to the village. Ned is still determined to crack the US and has been auditioning for roles in Hollywood.”
Joe’s murder was ordered by his evil step-mum Kim Tate – so it’s probably safer for him to stay away from the Dales.
A soap source tells Bizarre’s TV column: “Everyone was convinced he died in October.
“But he has been alive all this time and secretly living abroad with Graham’s help.
“Unsurprisingly, it comes as a huge shock to the rest of the village. And Cain in particular will be stunned. He’s been living with the belief he murdered Joe, with Debbie Dingle blaming him for her loss.
“But as soapland has seen time and again, unless a body or burial is seen, it’s likely a character could come back at any point — and that’s the case with Joe.”
