DANNY Boyle has confirmed he quit Bond 25 after a script dispute with the movie producers.
The director revealed that bosses weren’t impressed with the screenplay he had been working on with his regular collaborator John Hodge but he refused to work with another writer.
Replying to a reader question in magazine, he wrote: “I work in partnership with writers and I am not prepared to break it up … We were working very, very well, but they didn’t want to go down that route with us. So we decided to part company.
“What John Hodge and I were doing, I thought, was really good. It wasn’t finished, but it could have been really good … You have to believe in your process and part of that is the partnership I have with a writer.”
He did not comment on the exact nature of the disagreement because he felt it was “unfair” on director Cary Fukunaga, who has replaced him.

Daniel Craig, who is said to be filming his final 007 movie, and producer Barbara Broccoli are believed to have wanted to Bond to die in a “spectacular finale”, according to sources.
An insider said: “There were discussions about killing off Bond in dramatic fashion at the end.
“It would be a final hurrah for Daniel, and leave fans hanging.
“It would also leave it open for a twist in the next instalment — either Bond hadn’t died or there could be a Doctor Who-esque regeneration with a new actor.”
