EastEnders spoilers: Mel Owen catches Phil Mitchell laundering money through E20 as his money woes grow
She’s got her own money worries as her fight to get killer son Hunter out of jail continues
MEL Owen will be left stunned in EastEnders next week as she catches business partner Phil Mitchell using their club – the E20 – to launder money.
Fans of the BBC soap know that Phil – played by Walford legend Stev McFadden - has huge money worries and is being bullied into continuing money laundering to pay off gangster Danny Hardcastle – who is played by Brookside legend Paul Usher.
As the week in Walford gets underway, Phil is preoccupied with keeping teen daughter Louise safe after threats from Danny and his accomplice, Midge.
Danny then pays Phil a visit and demands he have his money by the end of the day.
Phil then enlists Keanu Taylor and Billy Mitchell’s help with the money-laundering scheme.
Later, while chatting to Phil’s wife Sharon in the club, Mel – Tamzin Outhwaite - spots Billy shoving a load of cash in the till on the CCTV.
She confronts Phil about what she’s seen and he’s left rattled when she makes him a surprising offer.
What’s Mel’s game?
Mel has her own money woes since promising her killer son Hunter that she’ll pay whatever it takes to get him out of prison.
After vowing to get him the best lawyer money can buy, she’s been left deflated as her money-making scheme involving Walford East restaurant has been stopped in its tracks by Iqra and Habiba Ahmed.
