Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd celebrates 19 years of playing David Platt with incredible throwback pics – and he looks totally different every time

CORONATION Street star Jack P Shepherd has celebrated 19 years of playing David Platt with a series of incredible throwback pictures – and looks completely different in all of them.

The 31-year-old, who was just 12 when he started on the ITV soap, told his fans:  “Today April 2nd I have been playing David Platt on @coronationstreet for 19 years.

“Thank you for the great storylines and memories.”

The first image shows one of the most iconic Corrie storylines of all time when Richard Hillman held the Platt family hostage.

Richard, played by Brian Capron, was in a relationship with David’s mum Gail (Helen Worth) and committed a series of crimes.

After confessing what he had done in an dramatic episode in 2003, he drove himself and his step-family into a canal, where he himself drowned whilst the Platts survived.

Another image shows Charlie Stubbs trying to drown David in the bath during a scene in 2009.

David had tried to blackmail Charlie when he discovered he was having an affair with Maria behind Tracy’s back.

There is also a shot of him in 2016 when he had to say goodbye to wife Kylie (Paula Lane) after she was brutally stabbed to death by Clayton.

Another sees him with Prince Charles when the Royal came to visit  the set to mark the show’s 40^th anniversary.

A further features David’s pet rabbit Barney, which Jack has previously admitted he wasn’t a fan of.

He said: “I don't like rabbits and it didn't like me either - it used to bite me. Barney died when I was 14 and I was quite pleased they didn't replace him.”
