Taylor Swift and Jennifer Hudson belt out Grammy-worthy performances at karaoke night for Cats movie wrap party
TAYLOR Swift and Jennifer Hudson staged an impromptu karaoke sing-off at the Cats movie wrap party on Saturday night.
An insider at the bash – at members’ club White City House at the former BBC Television Centre in West London – said: “They were in great spirits as they each belted out hit after hit.
“They were loving the attention and were having friendly banter. It was like a Grammy performance in an intimate setting. Partygoers respectfully kept the show off social media.”
Meanwhile, up-and-coming actress and dancer Mette Towley, who is also starring in the new Jennifer Lopez movie Hustlers, took to the stage as well.
I’m sure my invite simply got lost in the post.
Cash or Cardi – or maybe both
LOOKS like Cardi B is already counting her pay ahead of her Vegas residency.
The rapper fanned herself with wads of cash in an ad for the city’s Palms Casino Resort. The promo also features Rita Ora, and Emily Ratajkowski.
Cardi, who will play a string of shows at the venue’s nightclub Kaos later this year, previously teased the concerts on Instagram: “Yes, it’s true that Cardi got a residency in Las Vegas.
“I see a lot of you motherf***ers in the comments talking bout, ‘She only got one album, I thought you gotta be a legend, why her?’.
“Bitch, f*** you mean, ‘Why me?’ Because I bring bitches out!”
Grande sexuality hint
ARIANA Grande has revealed she is attracted to both men and women in her new single Monopoly.
She teamed up with best pal and co-writer Victoria Monet on the track, in which she talks about her sexuality for the first time.
On the tune, she sings: “I like women and men, yeah.”
The superstar was criticised in February and forced to defend herself after she was announced as the headliner for Manchester Pride, celebrating the LGBT community. Yesterday Ariana – currently on her Sweetener Tour in the US – hit back at people saying she was bisexual, insisting she didn’t want to define her sexuality.
After a fan said the singer didn’t have to “label herself” she replied: “I haven’t before and still don’t feel the need to now.”
Victoria responded to another follower who asked “Is she bi or nah?” by adding: “She said what she said.”
Ariana ended her two-year relationship with musician Mac Miller last year before a short-lived engagement to comedian Pete Davidson.
She also kissed a woman in the video for single Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored, but said in January that she would be staying single “for the rest of this year/ probably my life”.
She’ll have the best of both worlds to choose from if she changes her mind.
Catch her, Maybe
SEVEN years after her No1 smash Call Me Maybe, Carly Rae Jepsen is making a welcome return.
The Canadian singer has announced her next album will be called Dedicated and is out on May 17.
Following on from her 2015 album Emotion, it will feature recent singles Now That I Found You and No Drug Like Me.
And she will be making a flying visit to the UK to play a one-off intimate show – her first here in four years – at tiny East London venue XOYO on Wednesday May 29.

Biz meter
- DON’T bank on 50 Cent when it comes to buying a house. The rapper has made a massive £11.9million loss on his 21-bed mansion in the US state of Connecticut. The rapper paid £14.2million for it in 2007 when he bought it from Mike Tyson, but recently flogged it for just £2.3million. He has donated the cash from the sale to his G-Unity Foundation.
- HUGH Jackman has confirmed movie bosses are working on a sequel to The Greatest Showman. The actor, who played circus owner P.T. Barnum, said on Radio 2: “I think someone is working on a treatment [idea] for something . . . I know they are.” The Oscar-winning original was one of the biggest films of 2018, earning £333million to date.
- LOUISE Redknapp has announced a new tour to follow her album Heavy Love, out in October. The former Eternal singer, who recently returned with her first music in 16 years, will kick off 11 dates at Southampton’s The 1865 venue on March 12, 2020, before ending at London’s Shepherd’s Bush on March 26. Tickets go on sale on Friday.
- MADONNA has teased the release of new music with a series of Instagram posts which show a large red X over a black background, leading fans to believe she will drop her comeback single this week. It comes just a fortnight after the 30th anniversary of fourth album Like A Prayer and four years after her last record Rebel Heart.
Freezing cold shower challenge
OLLY Murs will be giving Chris Evans the cold shoulder after the DJ made him do the freezing cold shower challenge live on his Virgin Radio breakfast show.
The Voice coach stripped off yesterday morning and set an endurance record of 43 seconds while screeching on air, after agreeing to the ordeal last time he was on the radio.
Olly won’t be able to hold a grudge, though. He headlines the first night of the DJ’s RunFestRun festival at Wiltshire’s Bowood House in May.
Killers’ revenge
THE Killers plan to consign their troubled 2007 headline show to the history books when they play Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage again in June.
Singer Brandon Flowers said: “I’d forgotten about the previous headline slot.
“There were some sound restrictions which have since gone away, and we had the PA cut out a couple of times. I think we can do better. We’ve played about 700 shows since then so we’re a better band with more songs now.”
But asked if they would have new music out in time for the festival, he added: “No, I don’t think so. We just finished touring in September so, you know, give me a minute . . .”
