Dani Dyer admits dad Danny went ‘off the rails’ after her birth as she opens up about parents’ rocky relationship
Dani has claimed that the EastEnders actor 'didn't understand the concept of being a dad'
DANI Dyer has confessed that her actor dad Danny went "off the rails" after her birth as she opened up about her parents' rocky relationship in her new memoir.
The 22-year-old Love Island star claimed that 41-year-old Danny "didn't understand the concept of being a dad" after he and now-wife Joanne Mas welcomed Dani when they were both 18 years old.
According to , Dani shared: "He was very young to be having a baby and didn’t really know what he was doing.
"He’ll be the first to admit this was the period in time when he was partying like mad and going off the rails.
"I don’t think he really understood the concept of being a dad."
Danny and Jo met when they were just 14 years old and split just before Dani was born.
The pair remained apart for several years, with Dani admitting that her dad would spoil her with treats because he felt "guilty" about not being around more.
She also revealed that the EastEnders star "hadn't been great" to Jo, and he had to work hard to regain both her trust and the trust of her parents before she considered rekindling their romance.
In her book, Dani recalled Jo launching physical attacks on Danny - including throwing a video tape at his head and "shoving a KFC chicken Zinger Burger in his eye" - with the brunette beauty concluding with: "I thought it was normal for your mum and dad to argue."
