Emmerdale’s Claire King reveals Kim and Joe Tate showdown will be explosive – but won’t happen for a ‘long time’

Viewers recently learned that Joe was still alive but was warned not to return to the Dales by Graham Foster

EMMERDALE star Claire King has revealed the showdown between her character Kim Tate and step grandson Joe Tate will be explosive - although it won't happen for a "long time".

It was recently revealed that Joe, played by Ned Porteous, is in fact still alive, five months after he was "killed" by Cain Dingle, played by Jeff Hordley, on the ITV soap.

Viewers watched last week as Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) called him to say goodbye, after he told police the playboy was alive in an effort to protect him from Kim, who had ordered a hit on him.

The Emmerdale villain had previously threatened to murder her step-grandson in an effort to frame Cain for the crime properly.

Despite the news that he's alive, fans of the Dales never got to see a scene with Joe and Kim coming face-to-face.

And now Claire has admitted that fans won't see one for a "long time" but one thing is for sure, it would be explosive.

The actress also admitted it wouldn't be for a long time as Joe, played by Ned Porteous, wasn't coming back to the Dales

Speaking to The Sun Online, Claire said: "I can’t see him coming back in the foreseeable future but if he did come back and they saw each other I imagine it would quite explosive, wouldn't you?

"Kim and Joe are cut from the same cloth, and he was from the other side of the Tate family that Kim did not get on with."

The Sun revealed last month how Emmerdale star Andrew revealed how Joe wouldn't be back on the show.

The actor - who plays Graham Foster in the ITV soap - spoke about his relief at finally being able to speak about Joe being alive after keeping the secret for months.

But sadly for soap fans, he also revealed the tragic truth of Graham's breakdown after helping Joe hide from his murderous step-grandmother Kim Tate - he will never return to the village.

Joe was last seen in pictures withdrawing money from one of the Tate family accounts in Monte Carlo after he and Graham faked his murder.

Andrew said: "The reason why Graham was very upset when Joe seemingly died is because he knew then that he would never see Joe again."

He added: "I always knew Joe was still alive and was getting tired of being asked all the time, and being accused of murder!

"Kim ordered Graham to bump off Joe but when Cain thought he’d killed him, Graham saw an opportunity to cover up his own cover up.

"He let Joe go, but when you saw Graham with the gun it was to protect him so he could get away safely, but he reckoned if Kim returned she might hear on the grapevine Cain was up for murdering Joe to deflect attention from Graham."
