Emmerdale spoilers: Moira Barton fears son Matty has died during top surgery
She fears the worst as she sees a nurse rushing to theatre as he’s having his operation
MOIRA Barton has a whole heap of anxiety in Emmerdale next week as her son Matty finally goes under the knife for his top surgery.
Matty – played by Ash Palmisciano in the ITV soap - is worried as he prepares for the operation and Moira is put out when he has a heart to heart with Victoria Sugden instead of her on the night before his consultant appointment.
She then gets Matty’s back up when – at the hospital – she does most of the talking.
Matty isn’t happy and kicks off at his mum, telling her he doesn’t want her speaking for him.
He puts the boot in when he tells her he doesn’t want her at the hospital the next day when he goes for the op either. Moira is heartbroken.
The following day Matty tries to put a brave face on, but is feeling super nervous as he gets ready to go to hospital.
As he waits to have the operation he struggles to hide his nerves.
Matty is currently transitioning from female to male in the soap. His latest surgery will see his breasts removed and replaced with a male chest reconstruction.
After he’s gone in, Moira – Natalie J Robb - lashes out at a stunned Victoria, before breaking down and confessing that she’s terrified something awful is going to happen to him on the table.
She admits to Victoria that she’s scared of losing him and that her distress comes from the death of her daughter Holly back in 2016.
Moira found Holly dead in her bed following a drug overdose.
