Emmerdale viewers complain the soap is ‘50% underage sex’ – and are writing to MPs about the horrific paedo plot
Twisted teacher Maya has been sleeping with schoolboy Jacob over the past few months and viewers have had enough
EMMERDALE viewers have complained the soap is 50 per cent underage sex and have revealed they are writing to MPs to complain about the ongoing paedo plot.
Over the last few months fans have been left horrified as school teacher Maya (Louisa Clein) has repeatedly slept with her pupil Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) – and now they’ve had enough.
One : “I am writing to my MP.”
While another moaned: “This programme is 50% underage sex.....bring back Annie Sugden..”
And someone else wailed: "Am I the only one who feels uncomfortable with the teacher/schoolboy story line in @emmerdale?"
During last night’s episode the twisted teacher promised Jacob she’d dump David if he ditched Liv.
She said they could then be a "proper couple" as soon as he finished his exams and left school.
However, Louisa's character is in for a major shock when Jacob ends their relationship after she actually refuses to dump David.
The storyline has been one of the soaps most talked about for years and has left to numerous Ofcom complaints.
The soap now faces investigation after getting nearly 90 formal complaints to the regulator.
Louisa recently admitted it has been "difficult" filming her kissing scenes with 16-year-old Joe-Warren.
She said: "It is difficult, but Joe-Warren Plant is a joy to work with and he's so mature for his age. He's been on the show for such a long time and has been working with adults since he was eight years old, so he's very happy around adults. You wouldn't necessarily pin him as 16 when you met him.

"Of course it's awkward, but the scriptwriters are very sensitive to that, as are the directors and producers.
"We're all very conscious of not making it (the scenes) sexually titillating. Any form of intimacy doesn't need to be sexy. It's about the implied emotional intimacy, which is the creepy bit in a way.
"It's got to be that way. And Barnardo's were very happy when we told them the way we were going to play the story through."
