Richard Madeley gets ‘slapped’ by Britain’s oldest stuntman on Good Morning Britain

RICHARD Madeley got 'slapped' by Britain's oldest stuntman on today's Good Morning Britain during a live demonstration of the pro's skills.

Rocky Taylor, 73, has doubled for Roger Moore and Sean Connery in James Bond films as part of a glittering film career, and was on the ITV breakfast show to promote his new book.

Speaking to Richard, 62, and his co-hosts, Rocky shared: "People like Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan are very capable, but if they have an accident we can't replace them.

"We take the place of them in case it's dangerous.

"Years ago, stuntmen weren't recognised and if an actor had a double he wanted to pretend that he didn't, but now we are coming to the light."

He then got the presenter up from his spot behind the desk for a live example of his stunt skills, with Kate Garraway excitedly whipping out her mobile phone to film the demo.

Richard set the scene with a bit of role play, telling Rocky: "We are going to cast you in a Tom Cruise movie, this is a Jack Reacher film, I am one of the villains and you are Jack Reacher.

"Because Jack Reacher does everything with his elbows and fists, so you are going to give me a right hook to the jaw."

He then stood with his back to the camera and Rocky pretended to whack the star in the face - with a timely sound effect making the move all the more realistic.

Richard urged the star to do it again, with stunned Kate gasping: "That looked really real, are you okay?!"

Telling her he was fine, Richard then quipped: "They're all saying at home: 'Why didn't he connect?

"'It was a golden opportunity!'"
