Coronation Street’s real-life brothers finally share scene together as Rick Neelan’s office has a Tommy Orpington calendar
Fans were stunned to learn that Corrie's Rick Neelan and Tommy Orpington are played by sibling actors Greg Wood and Matt Milburn
CORONATION Street made a secret reference to the ITV soap's cast's real-life brothers in last night's episode.
Earlier this month, fans were stunned to learn that Corrie's Rick Neelan and Tommy Orpington are played by sibling actors who have never appeared in the same scene.
But Corrie bosses changed this with evil loan shark Rick, played by Greg Wood, seen in an office with local celebrity Tommy's [Matt Milburn] football calendar on the wall.
In fact, at one point ruthless Rick even slammed poor Gary Windass's beaten face against Tommy's picture in the calendar.
Greg recently reprised his role as Rick, targeting Gary who owes him £11,000.
He made his first appearance on the cobbles in 2009, joining the soap to torment Joe McIntyre and threatening the character's daughter.
The actor returned in 2012, this time targeting Tommy Duckworth and kidnapping Rita Tanner on her wedding day.
Meanwhile, Matt has made regular appearance in the soap as famous Weatherfield County footballer Tommy since 2016, when he hired Michelle Connor as his wedding planner and left her then-husband Steve McDonald starstruck.
He also made an appearance for Jack Webster's harrowing sepsis storyline, and even featured as a VIP guest at the opening of David Platt and Nick Tilsley's barber shop earlier this year.
Aside from Tommy's calendar cameo last night, the pair have never been on screen together.

Greg previously stunned Corrie fans when he shared a photo of himself with Matt at his wedding to his Instagram page.
The actor captioned the snap: "Beautiful day, couldn't of gone better. Proud of my bro."
His followers were shocked by the revelation, with one commenting: "Oh my god, I never would have made the connection that you were brothers??!!"
He also tweeted a photo of himself and Matt with their dad on Father's Day, writing: "Happy Father's Day!! Love you pops, you make your kids proud."
