Pregnant Gemma Atkinson reveals labour fears for her privates after reading childbirth books

PREGNANT Gemma Atkinson has opened up on her fears of "tearing" her privates during the birthing process.

The actress had been left traumatised after reading several books to explain the impact that delivering a child has on a body.

Gemma is expecting her first child with boyfriend Gorka Marquez - who she met while participating in the 2017 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

She told fans via Instagram: "Baby books are fine until you read the part where you 'may tear from your vagina to your bum'"

The former Emmerdale actress accompanied the message with a string of emojis to reflect her terror.

Gorka recently revealed he and Gemma will be raise their baby to be bilingual to reflect his heritage.

The Spanish pro dancer, 28, also wants to teach the child about his local culture.

The Bilbao-native said: “Of course our baby will learn to speak Spanish.

"Gemma loves where I’m from too... She has been to visit, we love how hot it is. I love being an uncle so I can’t wait to be a dad.”

The pair announced their exciting baby news on February 1st, sharing a photo of their dogs with signs around their necks that read: "Guess what... Mum's pregnant!".

Gemma also recently teased a return to Emmerdale, after she left the role of Carly Hope back in 2017.

Speaking on James Martin's Saturday Morning Show Gemma revealed that she was never killed off, and a return could be on the cards for her character in the future.

She said: "I just left the village in a cab as you do. I would love to go back to Emmerdale at some point."
