Nick Knowles claims he once had a secret fling with stunning Natalie Imbruglia

I THINK Nick Knowles may have inhaled too much brick dust during one of his DIY SOS builds.

He has suggested he once had a secret fling with none other than Natalie Imbruglia.

Nick, 56, claimed he grew close to the stunning Aussie actress while they were in Scotland together and refused to deny that they had hooked up when probed by Chris Moyles on his podcast.

He told the Radio X presenter: “I wouldn’t describe it as a thing . . . well, we were friends. It was a long time ago. She’s very beautiful and very bright and very funny.

“We went up to Edinburgh to do the G8 summit – she was part of the Comic Relief show. We’ve done various stuff.”

I think Nick may have dreamt this one up as I can’t imagine Natalie, 44, going for Nick, even if he did manage to pull Gemma Oaten, 34, a couple of years ago.

Despite this, Nick, who split from his wife Jessica Moor, 25 years his junior, in 2016, says he is still single and has moaned about his weight gain following his time in the I’m A Celeb jungle last year.

He added: “I’m fatter than I was – I’ve got some kind of reaction to when I was in the jungle.

“I actually asked my doctor about this and they said after starvation in the jungle I’ve obviously hit that thing where I’ve gone and ate everything I could find.

“I had a big Christmas. I lost 14 and a half kilos in the jungle, which is two and a half stone, in 20 days. I’ve almost put all of it back on.”

“At least a catch-up with Natalie is a good excuse to get back out to Oz.
