London marathon 2019 – which celebrities are running along with Mark Wright and Chris Evans?
AS well as raising money for good causes, the London Marathon can be a great opportunity for a little bit of celeb spotting.
Here’s a handy guide to which famous people you'll be able to see puffing along in today’s race.
Which celebrities are taking part in the 2019 London Marathon?
Virgin Radio host Chris Evans will be returning for a fifth London Marathon, hoping to beat his best time of 4 hours 39 minutes from back in 2016, running for his chosen cause Children in Need.
TV hosts Mark Wright, Helen Skelton, Jenni Falconer and Charlie Webster are also taking part.
Among the famous faces are EastEnders stars who are joining Scott Mitchell, Dame Barabara Windsor's husband to raise money for Dementia Revolution.
The 81-year-old was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2014 and she isn’t well enough to see Scott, 56, cross the finish line.
Adam Woodyatt, Tanya Franks, Natalie Cassidy, Kellie Shirley, Jake Wood and Emma Barton are running the marathon as Barbara's Revolutionaries.
They will be joined by Sky Sports presenter Kirsty Gallacher who is taking on the marathon for the first time and is hoping to raise £20,000 for SafeHands for Mothers.
Former Great British Bake Off winner and Dancing On Ice contestant Candice Brown’s stint as a PE teacher should stand her in good stead in the race.
She is supporting Dementia Revolution in tribute to her late grandfather and is hoping to raise £2,500.
Comedian Ed Gamble is taking part for the second time and will be joined by fellow funnymen Abdullah Afzal, Rob Deering and Paul Tonkinson in the famous race.
Ed said: “I wasn’t planning on doing it again. But they called to ask after I’d had two to three glasses of wine.”
Actor Leon Ockenden and singer Laura Wright will also be running their second London Marathons.
Sports stars trying their hand this year are Andy Murray's former coach Amélie Mauresmo, triple Olympic medal cyclist Chris Newton and rugby league star Jamie Peacock.
