RAMI Malek will star in the next James Bond film as a chilling villain, insisting: "I will be making sure Mr Bond will not be having an easy ride of it."
It was also revealed that stunning Blade Runner star Ana De Armas will also be appearing alongside Daniel Craig as a Bond girl.
Oscar-winner Rami, who played Freddie Mercury in Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, appeared via video link at a special press conference in Jamaica.
The 37-year-old said he was thrilled to have landed the role, saying: "I’m very much looking forward to joining the cast and crew so very soon."
He then made Daniel Craig chuckle by insisting he would not be giving his character an "easy ride".
Director Cary Fukunaga also revealed that Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw and Jeffrey Wright would all be returning to the franchise.
New details about the 25th Bond movie were revealed today at a press conference broadcast from Ian Fleming's Goldeneye villa in Jamaica, where he wrote the iconic novels.
007 supremo Barbara Broccoli explained: "Bond is not on active service when we start the film. He is enjoying himself in Jamaica. We've built an extraordinary house here."
She also revealed that filming has already taken place in Jamaica, Norway and Pinewood Studios near London.
The highly anticipated movie, set for an April 2020 release, will be Daniel Craig's final instalment in the franchise.
Bond fans have been on tenterhooks all day over the announcement, with speculation swirling over what exactly was getting revealed.
Last month, 007 supremo Barbara Broccoli revealed that the new James Bond film will not be called Shatterhand - after it was roundly mocked by fans.
According to a Twitter user, she wrote "It's not" above the Shatterhand logo, with an arrow pointing down at the rumoured name of the latest film.
The potential film name was first noticed in Production Weekly, which listed the film as Shatterhand, and stated that filming was due to start in April.
