And couldn't resist capturing her burgeoning bump with a selfie in the changing rooms.

"About to pop! Penultimate day at work today," she wrote, sharing the snap on Instagram.

Earlier this month Alex admitted she's "petrified" about becoming a mum of two and opened up about her "horrible baby blues" when her son Teddy was born.

She also revealed she found breastfeeding "worse than birth".

The One Show host made the confession during a candid chat with Guide Dogs' new series podcast, called I see What You're Saying.

Welsh beauty Alex is about due with her and husband, Charlie Thomson's second baby.

She said: "Everybody has nerves about being a mum and being a parent.

"Pregnancy for any woman is a period of excitement, but also slightly terrifying as you don't know what to expect. Even with your second it's like: 'How am I going to do two?'

"My mum was amazing at the beginning when we first had Teddy, for the first three weeks – thankfully. I don't know how we would have done it without her."

She said that while she hadn't suffered full post-natal depression, she definitely felt the "baby blues".

Speaking to pregnant Libby Clegg MBE, she said: "There's a lot of talk about post natal depression at the beginning, it can affect anyone of us.

"It is a horrible, horrible feeling because you should be feeling this incredible joy and you just feel like everything is so hard and it's never going to end.

"I remember day 3 and day 4 after having the baby.... It's the baby blues and it does happen.

"You feel like it's just you at the time but you talk to other mums and you find it's really common. It passes and things get better. It gets easier. It does."

But she admitted she found breastfeeding "worse than childbirth" and gave up four months in.

With her impending birth, Alex revealed she has opted for a birthing centre to give birth, run by midwives.
