EMMERDALE fans are in shock after Leyla Harding, Tracy Metcalfe and Priya Sharma left paedophile Maya Stepney to die.
The three women revealed tonight how they chased down Maya into some woodland before brutally attacking her for her grooming and abusing Jacob Gallagher.
In last night's episode Priya spotted Maya passionately kissing her schoolboy victim Jacob outside the nightclub.
She told Tracy and Leyla who confronted her, which led to Leyla bundling her into a car and brutally attacking the paedophile and beating her in the woods.
In tonight's episode Maya had completely disappeared and when the women went to check where they had left her injured, they found Priya's scarf and no sign of Maya or her body.
And despite all the abuse Jacob had been through, and the torment David was suffering thinking his girlfriend had left him, Leyla refused to allow any of them to tell what had been going on.
She said: "She'll probably wash up somewhere as a tragic accident, no-one knows we were there with her.
"We have to focus on protecting Jacob and David."
Convinced she had killed Maya, Leyla swore the others to secrecy.
"You're not phoning the police," she told Priya and Tracy as they insisted on calling the authorities to report Maya as missing.
Leyla told them: "She's either gone or she's dead, either way she's not coming back. There's no point in ruining lives over it."
Later as she coached Priya through her story in case anyone asked about Maya's disappearance, Leyla made it clear she had no choice.
She told her: "We're in this together, right? If anyone finds out we all go down so we tell no-one."
However, fans think paedophile Maya survived the attack and will return to have her revenge.
