Behind her were Jake Wood with a time of 5 hours 59 minutes and Jamie Borthwick at 6 hours 26 minutes.

Meanwhile last January Barbara told The Sun of her pride after eight of her closest Easenders pals teamed up with her husband Scott Mitchell to run the London Marathon in her honour.

The campaign was created by dementia charities Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK for the event’s Charity of the Year.

The group, who grew close to Barbara during her two-decade long reign on the BBC One soap, joined the Dementia Revolution in her honour and are working hard to raise £100,000 which will help fund ground-breaking research into the disease.

Barbara told The Sun: “It means so much to me to see some of my closest friends coming together to support this cause.

“And I know it will mean a lot to everyone else living with dementia.”
