SUSANNA Reid joked that she dumped boyfriend Steve Parish for Piers Morgan as he returned to GMB today.

The Good Morning Britain host told her co-star star that the split was "all down to him" as she insisted she was "fine" while discussing her split from her millionaire boyfriend for the first time.

Susanna and Crystal Palace chairman Steve dated for nine months. Susanna's spokesperson confirmed the split on Sunday but had declined to comment further.

Just after 6am, Piers quizzed Susanna, 48, about her love life and said: "Are you single again? You are aren't you?"

Susanna replied: "Yep. Let's not dwell. I'm fine, we're fine, we're very good friends. We were at the match on Saturday."

Susanna then tried to deflect the conversation on to Piers, whose team Arsenal lost at the weekend. She said: "You had an interesting match over the weekend. In fact you've had three.

"I know one of the things you're most devastated with is the fact you will no longer have access to the wine cellar."

Piers asked whether she'd leaked the news to coincide with his return to GMB today after his three-week break over Easter.

Susanna joked: "Yes Piers, it's all down to you" before adding: "These things happen."

The Good Morning Britain host was first seen with the Crystal Palace chairman in August last year.

The news will come as a shock to many after the pair were seen sitting side by side at the football on Saturday.

Susanna, 48, wore a camel coloured coat and sunglasses as she joined Steve, 53, to watch his team play Everton.

The star began dating Steve last year, her first public relationship since her split from the father of her three children, Dominic Cotton, in 2014.

"They watched the match together on Saturday even though the romance was over."

Back in January, Susanna said she was "very happy" with Steve, but ruled out marriage.
