Emmerdale spoiler: David Metcalfe struggles to cope as evil paedo Maya disappears after her abuse of schoolboy Jacob is revealed
The shopkeeper hits rock bottom as the fallout from Maya's deception continues
David Metcalfe will hit rock bottom next week in Emmerdale as revelations from the big night out continue to send shock waves around the village.
His paedophile girlfriend Maya Stepney – played by Louisa Clein in the ITV soap- is still missing, presumed dead by Leyla Harding, Priya Sharma and Tracy Metcalfe.
It’s been hinted that the trio savagely attacked Maya after Priya spotted her passionately kissing Leyla’s teenage son Jacob Gallagher.
And David – Matthew Wolfenden - will struggle to cope, believing that Maya has deserted him because she no longer loves him.
Leyla has been adamant that David mustn’t find out about teacher Maya grooming and abusing Jacob, who was also her pupil.
She’s told Tracy and Priya that they have to keep their secret about what happened with Maya in order to protect both Jacob and David.
Last night fans watched as David continued to worry about Maya who still hadn’t returned after the night out last week. He was even more concerned when Leanna Cavanagh revealed the teacher hadn’t shown up at school either.
David blamed himself as he thinks Maya has done a disappearing act because she saw him kissing his ex-wife Tracy in the club.
Seeing David struggling, Leyla quickly made out that she’d spoken to Maya and that she wouldn’t be returning to the village.
She told David that Maya had moved in with her mum, to the shock of Leanna who pointed out that the paedophile teacher hates her mum.
Leyla then said that Maya would be sending a courier for her stuff and that seeing him kiss another woman made her realise she never loved him. She added: ‘Sorry David but she hates you,’ leaving the shopkeeper heartbroken.
Maya has been grooming Jacob – played by Joe-Warren Plant – for months in the shocking storyline.
They were previously rumbled by Liv Flaherty who caught them in bed together. But Liv kept their secret as she planned to blackmail them for enough money to help Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle to pay for a surrogate.
