Emmerdale spoiler: Megan Macey set to leave soap after hitting Eric Pollard in horror crash?
Macey may lose everything after deciding to text and drive
EMMERDALE'S Megan Macey will be responsible for a nasty car crash in tonight's episode that will see poor Eric Pollard hospitalised.
The collision happens when Megan – who’s played by Gaynor Faye – decides to text and drive while rushing to meet her on-off lover Frank Clayton.
As the Emmerdale favourite grabs her phone to start writing out a message, she loses control of her vehicle and crashes into the car in front of her.
The other car – which is being driven by newcomer Jamie Tate – is then shunted forwards by the impact and which sends Eric, who’s on his way to declare
his love to Faith Dingle, flying.
Poor Jamie – who’s played by Alexander Lincoln – ends up getting the blame for the accident after Megan flees the scene.
Eric is then rushed to hospital and it looks like he’s managed to get away with no serious injuries. But when he later suddenly loses consciousness, it becomes clear that things are much more serious than anyone realised.
So could he die? And would Megan be looking at prison time if he does?
Turns out, even if Eric doesn’t die, Megan could still be looking at some harsh punishment.
She’d face an unlimited fine and would be disqualified from driving, having to take her test again to regain it. She would also be looking at a possible two
years behind bars - so yes, prison is potentially on the cards.
If Eric dies from his injuries then things will look even bleaker for Megan. The typical sentence for causing death by dangerous driving could be anything from five years to 14 years inside.
Obviously any time in prison would be disastrous for Megan, who is single mum to little Eliza.
Eliza has a type of cerebral palsy and being separated from her daughter would break Megan’s heart.
She’d also lose her wedding planning business – Take A Vow – which she runs alongside Leyla Harding. All that for the sake of one text message she
could have pulled over to send? Not worth it at all.
Still, at least Frank will be able to give her some tips on surviving in the slammer.
