Jack Whitehall takes over the Graham Norton Show as host steps down to prepare for Eurovision
The comic said he was 'honoured' to have been chosen to stand-in
JACK Whitehall will take over the Graham Norton Show as the host jets off to Tel Aviv for his Eurovision duties later this month.
It’s the first time the 56-year-old comedian has missed a show in his 20 year history as a telly host.
Graham will be absent as he prepares for the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final on Saturday 18th May.
League Of Their Own star Jack said he was “honoured” to have been asked to fill in.
He enthused: “I was so honoured Graham asked me to do this for him.
“The thought of stepping into his huge showbiz boots fills me in equal measure with fear and excitement.
“Worst case, I will make everyone appreciate just how lucky we are to have him.”
Graham added: “I’m thrilled to know that I am leaving the show in Jack’s capable hands.
“He is bound to do an amazing job. I should warn him not to get too comfortable in my chair though, because like a slightly fey Terminator, I’ll be back!!”
The BAFTA-award-winning talk show attracts some of the world’s biggest stars.
Luke Evans, Paloma Faith and Gwendoline Christie are just some of the celebs Jack will speak to when the show kicks off on May 17th.
Eurovision 2019 will be broadcast on May 14, 16 & 18 on .
