Jennifer Hudson ‘turns down big-money deal and QUITS The Voice’ after three years

The singer and actress is apparently too busy to commit to ITVs filming schedule in 2020

JENNIFER Hudson has turned down a big-money deal and QUIT The Voice after three years, it has been claimed.

claims the celebrity coach thinks it's time to hand in her notice to ITV ahead of the next series after leaving the American version last year.

A source told the paper: "Jennifer has absolutely loved her time on The Voice but she’s decided not to return.

“It wasn’t an easy decision. She would love to continue doing the show. But she has a lot on and something had to give."

JHud joined the show in 2017 working alongside Olly Murs, Sir Tom Jones and Will.I.Am.

But after the last series ended, the 37-year-old hinted that she could struggle to fit in filming the new set of hopefuls.

She told the : "You know, I am an actress as well. It's kind of going into film season for me.

"I was thinking that I truly, truly love this and that's why I'm three seasons deep in. I want to continue it, but I don't know that my schedule will allow me to."

Jennifer's career was launched when she was a finalist on American Idol (series three) before making her film debut in Dreamgirls (2006).

She is currently busy preparing to promote a huge screen adaptation of A-list cast Cats, starring Idris Elba, Dame Judi Dench, Taylor Swift, James Corden and Sir Ian McKellen.

Will.I.Am and Sir Tom are the only original coaches left on The Voice.

Jessie J, Kylie Minogue and Rita Ora all quit after short stints.

Olly was the winning coach this year after the public backed Molly Hocking as the champion.

She follows in the footsteps of Ruti Olajugbagbe, Mo Adeniran and Kevin Simm.

An ITV spokeswoman said: “No decision has been made ahead of next year’s series.

“We love Jennifer and if she is able to return we would be delighted.”

Now bosses are going to be trying to line-up another big name to take over from Jennifer.
