EMMERDALE viewers were left shocked this week when Victoria Sugden’s rape was aired before the watershed on ITV.
But things don’t appear to let up when it comes to dark and gritty storylines in the show’s latest solemn twist.
I can reveal Victoria, played by Isabel Hodgins, will find out she is pregnant and decide to keep the baby after evil Lee, played by Kris Mochrie, attacked her.
But Emmerdale fans can expect a tiny ray of light to emerge from the rape after she decides to give the baby to gay couple Robert, who is her brother, and Aaron.
A source said: “Victoria makes the tough call to keep the baby and she hopes that Robert and Aaron will take it.
“It’s a bittersweet act that will hopefully bring some happiness to viewers who have the seen couple chase their parenthood dreams.”
Fans were left feeling sickened and 39 of them complained to Ofcom after sitting through the final moments of Wednesday's Emmerdale episode.
In disturbing scenes, Victoria was attacked by vile Lee, who was one of the two men she briefly talked to in the club.
His pal was the first who wouldn't take no for an answer but got pelted with kebabs by both the chef and her vile attacker.
After leaving the club, Lee manipulated his way into Victoria's house following the long walk home.
Victoria asked him repeatedly to leave but he turned violent.
He said: "You said if I wanted to call a taxi, but I don't. I want to stay here. Come on, you know we both want this."
"What I want is for you to go," she told him, showing him the door.
Victoria begged Lee to leave as she was thrown around the bedroom during the harrowing sexual attack.

She screamed for help as her rapist grabbed her from behind and held his hand over her mouth to stop her screaming.
Pushing her face down on the bed he snarled at her: "You're a tease, and nobody likes a tease."
Screams and bangs were then heard from the bedroom leaving viewers reeling from what had happened.
