Emmerdale viewers slam David Metcalfe as he confronts Liv Flaherty for keeping quiet about paedo Maya abusing Jacob
The dad was quick to blame the teenager but still hasn't reported the crime to the police
EMMERDALE viewers were outraged tonight after David Metcalfe stormed off to have it out with Liv Flaherty for keeping quiet about Jacob and Maya - despite him not reporting it to the police.
Fans quickly jumped to the schoolgirl’s defence and slammed David for not having his priorities straight.

After discovering Liv knew about the illicit affair before anyone else and had been blackmailing Maya for money, David was incensed and headed over to see the teenager.
Slamming open the door he angrily barged into her home followed by Leyla to have it out with her but viewers couldn’t believe he was shouting at her but STILL hadn’t gone to the police.
One wrote: “So not only is David blaming his exes for what's happened with Maya and Jacob, he's now blaming Liv as well (even if she did blackmail them which is equally as wrong) FOR CRYING OUT LOUD DAVID! 🤬🤬 #Emmerdale”
While one said: “Also, great priorities, David! Get mad at Liv but do not go to the police about a predator. #emmerdale”
And another demanded: “Liv doesn’t owe you guys anything. #Emmerdale”
Another chimed in: “David is so blind to see what Maya has been doing, this isn’t Liv’s fault. 😒”David, surrounded by Leyla, Tracey and Priya tried to call his son again and apologised for kicking off at him.

Luckily David appeared to realise his mistake and he and Liv talked things through before the schoolgirl managed to speak to Jacob on the phone.
After passing the phone over to David the two agreed to meet up, which viewers are hoping will mean the end of this abusive storyline.
Viewers weren’t the only ones horrified that David hadn’t reported Maya to the police.
Priya was shocked and appalled when he admitted he’d decided not to involve them yet, calling him ‘crazy’ and asking what sort of father he is.
It’s been a tense week in the Dales as viewers have watched two special flashback episodes that revealed the truth of what happened to Maya and Victoria’s brutal rape.
While some fans were happy the truth about the schoolteacher and her abuse is finally out, others slammed the soap as they complained no justice had been had yet.
Maya and Jacob are currently on the run as viewers watched as they stayed holed up in a hotel room.
