Emmerdale spoilers: Dying Lisa Dingle hands Cain guardianship of his son Kyle
She decides the lad should be with his dad when she’s gone
DYING Lisa Dingle will leave step-son Cain touched in Emmerdale next week as she tells him she’s handing him guardianship of his young son, Kyle.
Lisa – who was recently revealed to be suffering from a terminal heart condition – is busy tying up loose ends with her family before her final days.
Along with remarrying Zak in a rather untraditional ceremony, this involves deciding who should have guardianship of eight-year-old Kyle when she’s gone.
And Lisa – Jane Cox - makes Cain’s day when she tells him she thinks Kyle should be with him, Moira and his half-brother Isaac on an official and permanent basis.
Her decision leaves Cain delighted but how will mum, newly returned Amy Wyatt, react?
Kyle was the result of a fling between Cain – Jeff Hordley - and schoolgirl Amy and has had quite a turbulent few years.
When Cain discovered Amy was pregnant, he told her he didn’t want her to keep the baby and gave her money for an abortion.
But Amy went ahead with the pregnancy anyway – with no one knowing apart from Cain’s sister, Belle.
After giving birth in December 2011 in the cemetery, Amy decided she wasn’t ready to be a mum and pleaded with social services to take the baby boy away and have him adopted.
Eventually she decided that she did want to be a mum to Kyle and tried to kidnap him and take him to Ireland. Cain stopped her at the docks and managed to convince her to leave Kyle there as a life on the run was no life at all.
Cain took the tot back to the village but still didn’t really want anything to do with him and –following the death of his grandmother Joanie – Zak and Lisa were given legal guardianship.
Kyle moved in with Cain and his wife Moira when Lisa left the village after being spiked with Ketamine by Liv Flaherty. Cain was devastated when Amy’s mum Kerry Wyatt came and took Kyle off him after he was suspected of killing Joe Tate.
Since then Amy has arrived back in the village and has revealed to Kyle that she’s his real mum.
