EMMERDALE'S David Metcalfe sets a trap to find out where his son's paedo teacher, Maya Stepney, is hiding in tonight's episode.

David is adamant that Maya should have to face the music for grooming schoolboy Jacob Gallagher for the past few months – and also fears that his teenage son is still being influenced by her.

He begins by convincing Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) to start concentrating on his future again, suggesting that he should sit his remaining GCSE exams as planned.

When Jacob agrees and heads off to school, David (Matthew Wolfenden) and Jacob's mum, Layla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), find Ryan Stocks (James Moore) in The Woolpack and ask him to install a spy software on their son's laptop.

With the villagers unaware of what's been happening, the pair pretend they are doing it to make sure 16-year-old Jacob is devoting enough time to his studies.

With Maya currently on the run after abandoning Jacob at a hotel, David reckons it's only a matter of time before the pair get in touch with each other again.

It may seem he has his wish as this week sees Maya finally being taken away by police - but Matthew has revealed that the arrest is just the start of a longer journey ahead for Jacob, who's hoping to get back with her.

Matthew says: "David absolutely believes he has done the right thing. Now that he knows the truth, he absolutely despises Maya.

"There's no emotion over losing his girlfriend. That completely goes out of the window and it's now pure, unadulterated hate. David wants Maya to go away to prison and for the key to be thrown away."
