Game Of Thrones writers were so paranoid about storyline leaks they flew out stunt doubles and extras to set – even if they weren’t used
David Benioff and DB Weiss went to extreme lengths to keep people guessing about the final which aired last night
GAME Of Thrones writers were so worried about storyline leaks that they flew stunt doubles and extras out to the set, even those that weren’t needed.
Desperate not to give anything away, creators David Benioff and DB Weiss invited every cast member who was still alive to the set while filming the last series of the hit HBO show.
Speaking about the levels they went to, Toby Osmond told: "HBO had built up a tradition of flying out the cast, doubles and stunt doubles who weren’t in the scenes.
"That was in order to throw off speculation about who would actually be in the scene.
"Emilia Clarke’s stunt double was flown out and they put her into costume with her wig on and everything, and she was walking around the set. Even Kit Harington came out and [he] wasn’t in the final scene."
It seems they managed to keep everyone guessing as viewers were left shocked as Daenerys Targaryen was killed off.

Even actress Emilia was left "flabbergasted" when she received her script for the Game of Thrones finale - which aired on Sunday - and realised her alter ego's lover Jon Snow (Kit Harington) stabbed her in the heart before she'd even taken the Iron Throne as she admitted it was a twist she didn't expect.
Recalling her reaction, she said: "What, what, what, WHAT!? Because it comes out of f***ing nowhere. I'm flabbergasted. Absolutely never saw that coming."
Emilia then "cried" and took herself off for five hours while she digested her character's fate.
She continued to Entertainment Weekly: "I cried. And I went for a walk. I walked out of the house and took my keys and phone and walked back with blisters on my feet. I didn't come back for five hours. I'm like, 'How am I going to do this?' "
