Alex Jones reveals she has given birth to baby boy called Kit on The One Show
THE One Show presenter Alex Jones has given birth to a baby boy called Kit, she revealed tonight.
A delighted Alex called into the BBC programme and told her former co-host Matt Baker: “We are now a family of four.”
Little Kit is Alex’s second baby with New Zealander husband Charlie Thomson after son Teddy’s arrival in 2017.
The 43-year-old told viewers: “He was born last Monday morning. We’ve had a lovely week getting used to being a family of four and introducing him to Teddy.
“I was a bit worried but Teddy has taken to it like a duck to water, being a big brother. He says: ‘Love you baby.’
“He thinks that we’re going to call the baby Thomas after Thomas the Tank engine so breaking the news is going to be tricky.”
Alex also posted a picture of the tot’s hands on social media, writing: “Little Kit Thomson arrived safely and very speedily last Monday at 2.21am weighing a healthy 7lbs 3.”
The 42-year-old star added: “Teddy, Charlie and I are absolutely besotted by baby brother and are enjoying this special time as we get used to being a foursome and generally breathing in that lovely newborn smell!!!
“A huge thank you to the midwives at the birth centre, Queen Charlotte Hospital for everything you did for us. #nhsheroes.”
The child’s name is perfect timing given that the final episode of Game Of Thrones, the hit drama starring Kit Harington, airs in the UK tonight.
Alex got engaged to insurance broker Charlie Thomson in February 2015 after meeting at a party in 2011.
The couple tied the knot the same year at Cardiff Castle on December 31 – announcing they were expecting their first child less than a year later.
Kit will be a little brother to their first child Edward Alun Burrell Thomson – known as Teddy – who was born in January 2017.
The Welsh presenter announced she was having a baby on The One Show just before Christmas last year.
Holding her belly, she said: “Now, I’ve not been on the mince pies! There is a little baby – look.”
