EMMERDALE'S David Metcalfe will "blame himself" for Maya Stepney grooming his son Jacob Gallagher.
Matthew Wolfenden has admitted his character feels guilty he sparked up a romance with paedo Maya, let the twisted teacher into his home and gave her easy access to groom the teenager.

Speaking on Lorraine this morning, the 39-year-old actor said: "David is going to blame himself for bringing this woman into his house."
The intense storyline has been ongoing for over a year, but Matthew is very "proud" of the outcome.
He explained: "This one has been so controversial, but for the right reasons. This is exactly what we wanted to portray.
"We had to play it out over this year and four months, because that’s what grooming is, the grooming process takes time. These people take their time."

Matthew continued: "The writing has been beautiful, particularly when David found out. I thought the writing was fantastic.
"As an actor it was incredible."
Matthew - who is expecting his third child with partner Charley Webb - knew the plot was going to be a "tough one to tackle".
He added: "At first it was like ‘oh wow’, we knew it was going to be a tough one to tackle, and we did work with Barnardo's, so did the storyliners, the producers, and the writers, and I think we did get it right. I'm really proud of it."
But Matthew refuses to watch himself on the small screen.
The star - who made his debut on the Yorkshire Dales in 2006 - said: "I just can’t do it, honestly. it was nice to see them clips.
"I enjoy doing what I do and I have had a lot of lovely feedback, and that is enough for me."

Matthew has no plans to quit the longstanding programme.
He added: "David runs the shop, you’re a bit of a main stay in the village, I love that."
And though his wife also stars in the show as Debbie Dingle, they filmed their first scene together in three years earlier this week.
He explained: "We did a scene together the other day, for the first time in three years."

In last night's episode Maya was arrested for grooming the 16 year old.
However their joy could be short lived, as Maya did her best to convince the cops she was innocent.
But in recent episodes the pair have been planning to run away together.
