New trailer for gory horror flick The Nightingale looks set to terrify viewers
The movie has won praise from critics following its debut at the Venice Film Festival
HORROR movie fanatics will face their biggest fears when the director of The Babadook returns with latest thriller, The Nightingale.
The latest trailer promises a gory spectacle and has left fans trembling in terror at the twisted tale of revenge.

Set during the colonisation of Australia in 1825, The Nightingale tells the story of a 21-year-old female Irish convict - The Fall's Aisling Franciosi - who becomes desperate to flee her abusive master, Lieutenant Hawkins - played by Sam Claflin.
The trailer shows Hawkins kill Clare's husband and baby, leaving her for dead as she becomes hellbent on revenge.
Clare tracks down her tormentor with the help of an Aboriginal tracker, and the latest trailer teases the horrifying showdown.
Movie fans and critics have flocked to social media to comment on the trailer and to give first reactions from festival screenings of The Nightingale.

The movie has got film critics buzzing with excitement after advanced screenings, with one writing: "We were told going into Jennifer Kent's The Nightingale that we'd be put through the wringer. And that we were.
"A brutal film about the brutality of white colonialism, which seems to be following a familiar revenge template but offers none of the catharsis you'd expect."
The Nightingale is due for a UK release on August 8, 2019.

Before Sam Claflin made his name as Finnick Odair in the Hunger Games movies, the British actor auditioned for two roles on fantasy epic, Game of Thrones.
He tried out for the roles of Jon Snow and Viserys Targaryen — the ill-fated brother of Daenerys who ends up getting a pot of molten gold dumped on his head.
However, the 32-year-old said he was ultimately glad he didn’t make the cut.
“I like getting into things like that [as a viewer] and not being a part, because I always find it’s very jarring if I was part of it,” he explained. “But I’m a big fan.”
