Emmerdale spoiler: Paedo Maya Stepney finally reveals perpetrator behind brutal attack
EMMERDALE paedophile Maya Stepney ends up in hospital tonight after being subjected to a brutal attack at the end of last week.
And the question on everyone’s lips is – who was the mystery person that roughed the evil teacher up?
Tonight on Emmerdale Maya, who is played by Louisa Clein, will answer some questions – and it looks like all fingers are pointing at her ex-lover David Metcalfe, dad of her teenage victim, Jacob Gallagher.
Friendly neighbourhood copper, PC Swirling, will be seen arriving at David's shop in the village, keen to ask him some questions about his movements on the night Maya was attacked.
Emmerdale fans saw David go AWOL from the shop last Friday, after discovering Maya had changed her plea to guilty over text messages she’d sent 16-year-old Jacob.
But rather than being pleased, David was infuriated as he believed the twisted blonde was only doing it to get a lighter sentence.
Later, Tracy Metcalfe and Leyla Harding were in the shop when Maya’s ex-husband, Liam Cavanagh, got a call to say Maya was in hospital after being attacked.
Leyla became immediately suspicious of David who apparently couldn’t get out of the shop fast enough after finding out about Maya’s plea change.
And Leyla’s not the only one who thinks David might have attacked Maya.
When Jacob finds out that the woman he loves is in hospital tonight - he angrily turns on David by accusing him.
But could David – who’s more of a lover than a fighter – really attack someone so badly they need to be hospitalised?
After being questioned by Swirling, David will head to the hospital where he will angrily confront Maya, only for Swirling to catch them in a heated exchange.
He’s really not doing anything to make himself look innocent here and it appears David may have just walked directly into Maya's trap.
Matthew Wolfenden who plays David in the ITV soap recently spoke out about how the grooming storyline was far from over for his character and Jacob - even now when it looks like Maya will be sent down for her crimes.
He said: “This is the start of the hard times for David and Jacob. The fact that Maya has been arrested is not the end of the storyline. I think it's the beginning of the next chapter.
"I don't know what's going to happen next, because as far as Jacob thinks, David has ruined his life. I don't know if he's ever going to come around to the fact that David hasn't. It's definitely not going to be a quick fix."
