EMMERDALE viewers have been sickened after the police questioned Victoria Barton over naming her rapist Lee Posner.

The chef - who is played by actress Isabel Hodgkins in the ITV soap - was shocked when the police turned up at her door demanding to know if she had left posters naming Lee as a rapist around where he works.

Viewers know it was her brother Robert who posted them all, but when the police arrived they questioned her about the posters - after dropping the rape investigation - and fans were furious.

The police officer told her: "A complaint of intentional harassment has been made regarding some posters that have been put up in and around the workplace of Mr Lee Posner.

"It's Mrs Barton we're here to talk to - that's you madame?

"I'm aware of the allegations you've made against Mr Posner, Mrs Barton. And I need you to know they are being dealt with separately."

Viewers took to social media with one writing: "Why aren't they arresting the rapist instead of hassling his victim? #emmerdale"

A second said: "Are the police complete idiot's? #Emmerdale"

Another added: "Bloody police do nothing. #Emmerdale"

Afterwards Victoria was furious at Robert for not admitting what he had done to the police when they were questioning her.

She stormed out of his cottage and back to her own telling him: "Get off me, he spoke to me like I was a criminal and you just sat there.

"You didn't admit it. Of course he knows it was you, he didn't say anything to the police about you trying to attack him but he sends the police around to me for putting the posters up.

"He's mocking me Robert, he's trying to make me suffer like I haven't done enough already.

"You're helping him do that, you did this for yourself for your poor bruised ego. Stay away because I don't want anything to do with you."
