MEGAN McKenna has been dating an ex-con who was jailed for an assault in a bar.

A source told The Sun Online that the reality TV star has been in a relationship with Zack Gilbert for at least three months.

Zack, 26, was after an unprovoked attack on a French banker at a bar in Shoreditch, East London.

Megan’s last relationship was with tragic Love Island star Mike Thalassitis, who was found dead in a park near his home in March.

A source close to the new couple said: "Megan and Zack have been dating for a good few months but have got serious in the last three.

“She has been keeping the relationship low key as it's been a difficult few months for her after Mike's passing.

“They do seem really happy together, their families have met and everything. It’s the first time that she’s been with anyone properly since Mike and Zack has helped put a smile back on her face.

“He has been a great comfort to her, and has been going around her house for low key dates rather than going out to all of the places she is used to going to."

Former Towie star Megan, 26, and Mike dated for seven months on and off but broke up for good in July 2018.

French national Jonathan Agostini, 33, was attacked in The Light Bar in Shoreditch High Street in 2013.

Mr Agostini sustained a deep wound to his head and severe bruising to his face after he was set upon at about midnight.

While Zack didn't deliver the blows, the court heard at the time how he held Mr Agostini down while O'Docherty kicked him repeatedly in the head.
Speaking after the sentence at the time Mr Agostini said: “They came up to me and said, ‘F*** off, you French c***.’

“I was punched and bottled over the head. After being attacked like that, I didn’t go out to public places for a few months.

“I’m still very careful when I go out now and about who I interact with and what I say.”

Zack has now turned over a new leaf and has gone on to become a successful businessman and co-own Affluent Attire, an online luxury personal shopping service.
