LIAM Gallagher reignited his feud with his brother Noel at Glastonbury weekend following a not-so-nice comment made by his sister-in-law.

But what was said that angered the Brit, how long have the two been feuding and where does their relationship stand today?

Why is Noel feuding with Liam?

In 2009, Noel Gallagher, the group’s lead guitarist, had stunned fans when he announced his departure from the group in the midst of their world tour.

Apparently, things had gotten so chaotic between the two that Noel simply couldn’t deal with the idea of being around his brother any longer.

He wrote in a statement: "People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."

His departure from the band came just weeks after Liam’s infamous interview with NME Magazine, where he claimed that his relationship with Noel was non-existent.

Even before their split, Noel and Liam apparently only saw each other on stage, they had no communication with one another and also didn’t travel together when it came to work commitments and touring.

Evidently enough, this would cause a clash for anyone who is placed in such a toxic environment where two people in a group can’t get along.

"He doesn't like me and I don't like him, that's it," Liam explained to the mag.

But, as fans are well aware, Liam and Noel had been clashing for well over a decade prior to the band calling it quits - to say that their relationship was fractious would be an understatement.

Alan McGee, who founded Oasis in 1993, had admitted at the time that Noel quitting the band wasn’t anything new - there had been plenty of feuds and arguments in the past that led to both of them quitting at one point.

But this feud was different than their previous ones, he said, explaining: "Noel has left tours before, Liam's not showed up for gigs before, and they've carried on. But this, certainly the way Noel's presented it on the Oasis website, it does feel like it has a degree of finality to it."

The famous brothers have had endless arguments over the years dating all the way back to 1994 when Noel quit the band following a disastrous show that saw Liam supposedly slurring his words, insulting the crowd and throwing a tambourine at his brother.

In 1995, in the midst of recording What’s The Story, Morning Glory, Liam invited a group of drunk strangers to the studio which absolutely infuriated his sibling.

When Noel had made the attempt to control the situation and remove the strangers, Liam apparently lost his cool and attacked his brother, but Noel defended himself by cracking his brother over the head with a cricket bat.

Why was Liam feuding with Noel over his Glastonbury performance?

On June 29, Liam Gallagher had taken to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2019.

Prior to his performance, Noel’s wife Sara had taken to Instagram, replying to a message regarding Liam’s upcoming performance, and she definitely let it be known how she felt about her brother-in-law gracing the iconic stage.

She wrote: ‘Think I’m going to swerve that. The fat twat doing his tribute act, balancing a tambourine on his head is going to look pretty dated after Stormzy.’

After seeing Sarah’s comment, Liam is believed to have messaged Noel’s 19-year-old daughter Anais which said: “Tell your step mam to be very careful [sic].”

It wasn’t long before Liam retracted the comment by offering a public apology via Twitter, writing: “My sincere apologies to my beautiful mum Peggy and my lovely niece Anais for getting caught up in all of this childish behaviour I love you both dearly LG x.”

But the damage had already been done as Noel took it upon himself to screenshot the text and share it with his own Twitter followers, with the following message:

“So you’re sending threatening messages via my teenage daughter now are you?”

“You were always good at intimidating women though eh? What you planning on doing anyway?”

His lengthy response concluded with the indie star saying: "And don’t try and kidnap the cat either we’ve just employed Ross Kemp as his close protection officer. Enjoy the summer Big Tits. Catch up soon."

The two clearly have no plans of making up anytime soon.
