Ex-Emmerdale star Verity Rushworth gives birth to a baby boy
EMMERDALE'S Verity Rushworth has given birth to a baby boy.
The 33-year-old actress, who played village regular Donna Windsor on the ITV soap from 1998 to 2009, took to Twitter to announce the happy news, sharing an adorable picture of her newborn baby's tiny feet.
Verity revealed that she went just one day over her due date before giving birth to her second child.
The mum-of-two also has a daughter Amelie Iris who was born in August 2016.
She married her husband Dominic Shaw in 2013.
Her character was written out of Emmerdale in 2014 when Donna was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer - before dying throwing herself off a roof after a confrontation with the creepy Gary North in order to protect her four-year-old daughter April and lover Ross Barton.
The actress has developed a career on the stage since – and has had roles including Maria in The Sound of Music and Penny Pingleton in Hairspray: The Musical.
As she began her stint in Kinky Boots in 2017, she opened up about returning to work as a new mum.
"It’s a massive struggle obviously when you have a baby and so I decided to chill and take 10 months," she told the Press Association.
"Then I felt I needed to be me again and the skills I had worked so hard on I didn’t want to lose.
"I just don’t think that everything should stop just because I’ve had a baby and I’ve been very lucky I’ve had 10 months with her and I’m still at home with her until 4 o’clock so I get to spend time with her and do the show."
