EMMERDALE fans are convinced that Megan Macey will die in a devastating fire as Gaynor Faye announces her exit from the soap.
The ITV soap recently revealed that at least one resident will die after a blaze storms through the Sharma sweet factory.
Discussing the possible victims on Digital Spy's fan forum, fans began speculating that Gaynor's character Megan was likely to be written out during upcoming scenes.
One wrote: "My money is on it being Megan that dies."
Another theorised: "I think Robert will kill Lee, Megan to be killed off."
A third commented: "Interesting maybe kill off megan.";
Speaking about the summer storyline, soap producer Laura Shaw revealed that the big event will occur at the end of the month, which leaves Tracy Metcalfe trapped in the blaze.
She explained: "We’ve got our big week coming up at the end of the month with ‘Emmerdeadville’, as we’re calling it, as the backdrop to the drama that’s going to be kicking off.
"As the fire takes hold there’s a huge explosion. Will Tracy get out in time?
"I can’t tell you, but I think it’s safe to say there are some heart-breaking scenes ahead for our villagers and Tracy’s life is never going to be the same again.”
And the show’s Executive producer Jane Hudson said of the summer storylines: “Not everybody will make it out alive, whether that’s one, two, three or four, you’re just going to have to see.”
Gaynor announced that she was leaving Emmerdale after eight years in May.
She told OK!: "I know it’s a risk but I need to push myself out of my comfort zone.
"I’ve always been the type of person who doesn’t want to stay playing the same character for too long.
"I’ve been on the show for over six years and have naturally reached a point where I’d like to do some other stuff."
Last month fans became convinced that Megan will die after their predictions that she would leave to go to prison weren't correct.
The wedding planner was facing a year in prison for driving without due care and attention and putting Eric Pollard in hospital.
For weeks Megan had been making plans about going to prison for her crime - that she initially tried to cover up and let Jamie Tate take the blame for.

However, it all came to nothing as she walked back into the village a free woman leaving viewers very confused.
One wrote: "Megans talking about the future so shes going to die soon. #emmerdale"
Another added: "I thought Megan was leaving the show. #Emmerdale"
