Emmerdale spoilers: Lydia Hart breaks down at burial site of her stillborn son in heartbreaking scenes
THERE are some more emotional scenes coming up for poor Lydia Hart in Emmerdale this week as she finally visits the place where she laid her stillborn son to rest.
It’s not a trip she really wants to make though and she’s still determined to leave the village, to fiancé Sam Dingle’s despair. He begs her to stay, but Lydia is having none of it.
She heads outside for some air and secretly calls a taxi to pick her up.
Sam tries to stop her from leaving by standing in front of the car, but it simply pulls away.
Before she heads to the station, Lydia has the taxi pull up at the school near the place her tragic son was found.
But she can’t bring herself to get out and Lydia asks the driver to take her directly to the train station.
By the time she gets to the station, Sam is already there.
He tries to persuade Lydia to visit the baby’s burial spot, convinced it will help her come to terms with the loss she suffered as a teenager.
He tells her that if she still wants to leave after that, then he’ll do nothing to stop her.
She then breaks down, letting all the emotions she’s kept hidden for all these years come out.
But what will this mean for her and Sam?
And, more importantly, will Lydia ever be able to forgive herself?
More on Emmerdale
It was revealed last week that Lydia was actually Jenny Finn and had been 16 years old when she gave birth to her stillborn baby.
Lydia – played by Karen Blick – revealed that she’d stolen a dead girl’s identity.
Karen told The Sun Online: “She took somebody's identity, the circumstances of which will come out, the whys and wherefores of that.
“She assumed another identity. Lydia Hart was another person, and she assumed that identity and lived as Lydia.”
