Who is The Great British Bake Off 2019 contestant Jamie?
Jamie was taught to bake by his grandma and parents, but it was after he watched an episode of The Great British Bake Off, that he was inspired to take up baking.
The 20-year-old part-time waiter was born and raised in Surrey with his identical twin brother and studies Sports Science at university.
He has taken on challenging bakes such as a croquembouche and croissants, although he prefers traditional flavours.
Nonetheless, the student enjoys experimenting with flavours that he can find in his house.
Jamie is on Instagram and has more than 1,000 followers on the micro-blogging website and he can be followed .
What happened to Jamie in Bake Off?
- Week One, Cakes - Jamie came last in the technical challenge with "rubber" angel cakes, and then forgot to put the eggs in his showstopper cake. It was a miracle he managed to stay in the competition.
- Week Two, Biscuits - Jamie came last in the technical challenge - again - after a disappointing signature bake. Although his showstopper tasted good, it looked a mess, so after another bad week, Jamie's lack of finesse got him the boot.
What has Jamie said about The Great British Bake Off 2019?
Jamie said he it was a “real shock” when he got the call to say he had been accepted as a contestant on The Great British Bake Off 2019.
Although, he was nervous during his first day inside the Tent he soon felt comfortable by the second and “gelled” with the other contestants.
He has admitted his friends will be shocked to learn he is taking part in the new series of the baking contestant, “as they don’t even know that I bake so they will get a shock to see me in an apron!”
When did The Great British Bake Off 2019 start?
The Great British Bake Off returned on August 27, 2019.
The new airs on Tuesdays on Channel 4 at 8pm.
Bake Off is expected to run for 10 consecutive weeks and the final is likely to be in November 2019.

Previous Bake Off contestant Martha Collison, who reached the quarter-finals in the 2014 series, confirmed to : “Everyone is so surprised and thinks there must be some secret cash, but all we really get is a bunch of flowers and a cake stand.
“But then, you also kind of become a national treasure just by doing it because everyone in Britain loves the Bake Off so much.”
