CORONATION Street's Daniel Osbourne will cheat on dying wife Sinead Tinker with Bethany Platt after the devastating storyline brings them closer together.
The pair will be seen talking through their problems - his fears over Sinead's health, her abuse hell at the hands of Nathan and his grooming gang - when their feelings get the better of them and they end up sharing a kiss.
A source exclusively told The Sun Online: "Bethany and Daniel will grow closer over the next few weeks.
"There's a spark between them that comes at the worst possible time as Sinead's cancer has returned.
"Daniel leans a bit too much on Bethany and she him after all her abuse by Nathan's gang is brought back up.
"They're both really vulnerable and one minute they're talking and the next they're snogging.
"Daniel is going to be guilt-stricken over what he's done to Sinead, and he's terrified he's getting his dad's worst qualities.
"Bethany will confide in her family over what's happened to try and come to terms with her own guilt."
Coronation Street had no comment when contacted by The Sun Online.
The Sun exclusively revealed Katie McGlynn will make a heartbreaking exit from the soap when her character loses her cancer battle.
Sinead will receive the news that all treatment has failed and the only option left to her is whether she wants to die at home or in a hospice.
The tearkjerking storyline means there can be no return to Corrie for Katie, who leaves after six sensational years in Weatherfield.
A TV insider said: “From her two rocky relationships to the mini-bus crash, she’s been in some of Corrie’s most captivating storylines.
“And producers will be sad to see Katie leave the soap, but she will make an unforgettable departure which is set to leave viewers in tears.”
She had to make the agonising decision between having their baby or having radiotherapy which might save her life.
She shunned the treatment and had their son, Bertie, in January.
Sinead turned to homeopathic remedies but the cancer spread, and she seemed to be beating the disease after having aggressive chemotherapy.
The Underworld knicker factory worker’s loved ones are set to be hardest hit, particularly Daniel and her former boyfriend Chesney Brown, played by Sam Aston.
The tragedy also greatly affects Roy Cropper as it brings back memories of losing wife Hayley to terminal pancreatic cancer.
Katie, who was nominated for a British Soap Award earlier this year, is the latest in a long line of big names to have quit Coronation Street recently.
Other cast members leaving include Kym Marsh, Faye Brookes and Tristan Gemmill.
