The 48-year-old is back with a bang in the new UK Champions edition of the show, after winning the talent contest 12 years ago and becoming the first winner.

In the new series starting on Saturday, the Bristol-born star blows the crowds away but, according to Simon Cowell, is a bit 'shaky'.

Performing in front of a live audience, he appeared a little anxious despite having spent the past decade touring the world, making albums and even having a film made about him, starring James Corden.

The star can be seen performing in front of judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.

Closing the show, the operatic singer has stiff competition from big Britain’s Got Talent names, including Ashleigh Butler and her new dog Sully.

The former Carphone Warehouse employee who won the first series of Britain's Got Talent, will battle it out with the other eight acts to win one of two places in the show's finale.

Each week, two acts will make it through with one decided on by the Golden Buzzer - but this time, only one judge can press per show.

Then there's a second vote from the 'super fans' who are sat watching in the live audience.

The show consists of former BGT stars and champions from other series around the world, including Asian, American and Australia.

Continuing for six weeks, this is set to be the battle of the best around the globe with a host of faces you'll recognise.

Prolific Paul is also joined by his former competitor, series one finalist Connie Talbot, who was only six years old when she was up against him.

Looking angelic in white and with the voice of an angel, the now-18-year-old is back after winning over the audience in 2007.

Britain's Got Talent: The Champions airs Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
