Burning questions from episode one of A Confession
What happened to Sian O’Callaghan?
A Confession kicked off with Sian going missing after a night out.
Detective Steve Fulcher is called in to investigate her disappearance.
We saw the family hold a press conference, with her boyfriend Kevin and mum Elaine appealing for information.
But where is she?
In real-life: We know that Sian has been murdered by Christopher Halliwell and that her body will be found five days later.
Where is Becky Godden-Edwards?
Not much is said about Becky but we do know from episode one that her family hasn't seen her for some time and her mum Karen is hoping she'll get in touch.
We also know that Karen lives over the road from Sian's mum Elaine.
We are told that the last time Becky was seen she claimed she was managing a nightclub.
In real life: Becky was a sex worker who disappeared from Swindon.
She was known to Halliwell, who had become besotted with her after meeting her while working as a taxi driver in the red-light district the Wiltshire town.
In January 2003, he had sex with Becky, strangled her and buried her body in a field in Gloucestershire.
How will Detective Fulcher find out who is responsible?
In episode one we see that CCTV footage captures Halliwell's car and Sian walks towards it - this footage is shown to Detective Fulcher who then gets his officers to find out whose car it is.
In real life: After DS Fulcher identifies Halliwell as a suspect after spotting his green Toyota Avensis pulling up next to Sian, as she made her way home.
DS Fulcher then secretly kept him under surveillance in the days that followed in the hope he would lead them to Sian.
However police swooped when they witnessed him buying enough paracetamol to take his own life, and arrested and charged him for kidnap initially.
He was arrested in Asda and admitted to both murders, admitting "I'm a sick f****r. I need help" and even leading officers to their bodies.
